I'm assuming most of you here have a pretty good collection of physical and well cared for books. Would any of you be interested in a book exchange program similar to the christmas gift exchange thread?

We would have to work out the logistics and costs involved of course, but I can imagine a situation where everyone sends in a random well loved book they think others might enjoy, and they in turn receive a completely random book from another user. We could do this say once a month or every 6 weeks. Any takers?

My best books are all old paperbacks, and the glue has dried, leading to the pages falling out. But who needs a physical copy of Euripides when that shit's in the public domain.

Not to say that this isn't a good idea. What's say we have a system where people post a short list of books they are willing to lend, and we can compile a lending library list out of them.

I think having a library system would be far too hectic to manage. The original idea was plausible because it would be a one time event every month or so.

Plus, I really like the idea of receiving a random book instead of choosing one.
