1377 .177 american classic crosman air pistol. My current carry since I was 13 years old. I bought the plastic stock, turning it effectively, into a carbine. I know its a little goofy but the camo duct tape looks pretty nice on it, and it doubles up as a pouch for the .177 lead hollow point BB's. ten pumps gets up to 500 FPS, which is quite deadly, and even illegal in alot of places. Biggest critter I took down with it was a really fat squirrel.

Would you consider this a weapon capable of self defense?

I would never trust that thing with my life. Real rifle any day.

It would take a well placed shot but I think that if it can go straight through a squirrel it can cause some damage to an individual. It doesnt have much stopping power admittedly, but i think thats overshadowed by the fact that ammo is $5 for 250 hollow point pellets. I like to stock up on ammo.
This is OP by the way.

Do you live in Europe? Because you're completely clueless.

Yes, does that change things for you? i am not too familiar with real firearms.

Neigh the fact that I probably have no fucking clue about the use of a real combustion rifle or pistol, I don't think it really matters if the weapon can put an opponent out of the fight. I am having a bitch of a time deciding whether to go all the way and go through all the training and permits to own a firearm, or just put a shot in an intruders neck with this weapon. I have since ordered a .20 air pistol that is co2 powered through a trusted brand's website. I'll post pics when it arrives in a week or two.

I understand your country is an oppressive police state. What I was getting at, frustratingly, is that a 10 grain .20 pellet will be ineffective in just about 99.99% of circumstances. Punching an attack in the mouth would provide far better results than even a well placed .20 pellet to the neck.

Americans like things big for a reason. That's why we invented the .45 ACP, the .40 S&W, 10mm and so on. Size DOES matter.

Honestly, you should just buy a knife (unless those are illegal too), or perhaps a kubaton, and study a fighting art. Or better yet, move to America (or Switzerland).

Or the Czech Republic.

Modern calibers all have about the same terminal ballistics. Just the trauma area differs between the rounds, but all of them can puncture through 12" of flesh.

Leaving aside that you're completely wrong, you're also ignoring the fact that puncturing flesh doesn't matter worth a shit if there's not enough kinetic energy being transferred to the target to create a shockwave that damages the surrounding area. Do you think you can shoot well enough to reliably hit the jugular artery or brain stem with this stupid thing? If not, it's a waste of time, and if so, you're even more of an idiot than I thought.
