Hello /w/, I am in need of assistance. I want a mosin nagant. I can't find one around here. So, I'd like to order it online. I'm looking for something in decent shape for dirt cheap. Does anyone know of any good deals?

Check out Rguns. They have a "Hope and change package that is a Mosin with all the fixin's and a 440 round spam can for $140 + shipping + FFL fees. It will end up around $250.

Alternatively Big5 usually carries them. You can get em on sale for >$85 sometimes.

anything cheaper?

Elsewhere on their sight are mosins listed at $79 each. You will have to pay shipping and FFL fees no matter where you buy online.

You generally can't find a decent condition Mosin for much cheaper than that. Gone are the days of $20.00 nuggets.

Indeed.

Around $200 without transfer fees. Not a bad price these days for an M44.

You just have to be careful about the rifle condition. A lot of the time you'll have to clean the rifle up because it'll have that preservative gel stuff on it.

Meh. I left all the cosmoline in the wood. Getting a Mosin with a ton of cosmo on it is a good thing. It means you're getting a relatively fresh out of the drum it was sitting in.

Cleaning the shit out of the internals is easy. I just soaked my bolt in gas overnight. I wiped out the receiver with a gas soaked cotton ball and q-tips. A lot of people like to put their stocks in the oven or in a garbage bag in the sun to bake out the cosmoline.

Mosins are great rifles but as with any milsurp firearm, your mileage may vary. Also, please don't 'refurb' it or 'bubba' it. These things make my soul ache.

Agree that cosmoline isn't really a problem, but I'd suggest disassembling the bolt. I've soaked them in mineral spirits to clean out the gunk only to find more gunk inside the bolt around the firing pin. YMMV and all, but it's easy.

Also, if the dreaded sticky bolt rears it's head when shooting, affix a 16 or 20 gauge bore brush to a drill. Soak the brush in hoppes and use that to clean the chamber.

Try waiting for a gun show in your area.

If not, there are still plenty of sites where you can find one for under $100. 91/30s will usually be in good enough condition because they were all refurbed in the decades after WW2 and put in storage until just recently.

he said dirt cheap?!?

not necessarily the best price, but i couldn't resist. the spam cans aren't bad there either.

There is no pricing on that website. Even so, unless you have a FFL of somesort he's going to have to pay for transfer fees and shipping. These two things alone usually negate any cost savings when buying nuggets online.
