Reason, because the whole "everything is the projection of a physical piece of equipment" paradigm seems the most intuitive to me. But I guess this is also where most of the hate for this program stems from. Actually this and before version 4 that it was so incredibly hard to get some good sounding drums / mixing & mastering done inside of the program, because the sample libraries are not exactly the best when it comes to drums and drumloops and you had to pull off insert fx and sidechaining all by yourself by plugging in cables, splitting signals, etc.
Since I didn't have the slightest clue about audio production when I started out fiddling around with Reason, I didn't actually mind that too much. Now I have a slight clue and basically still get provided with everything I could ever need.
I tried getting into Cubase once, but just getting it to play the notes I was punching into my midi keyboard seemed so complicated and assbackwards, that I stuck to Reason.
>inb4 retard
>inb4 stop making music
>inb4 kill yourself
Who knows, I might give it another try someday, I might switch to another DAW when I feel that Reason somehow limits my progress in some way (right ... sure) but honestly, if you don't somehow design your program('s GUI) in some way that even a complete idiot might understand it with the help of a short introductory, then you can go fuck yourself.
