I feel caught between hellza liking TMBG a lot and thinking they create hellza genuinely fun and creatively compelling music and seeing them as a sort of wimpy, pandering "nerd" band.

Stuff like this video is just sort of cringe-worthy to me, and gives me the feeling that John and John are trying so hard to have wacky new-wave personalities but just being a couple of white privileged art nerds, which I'm alright with as long as their honest about it, honestly, which I think for the most part they are, but they still need to say and covey something other than WE'RE GEEKS WHO WANTED TO BE LIKE DAVID BYRNE, which I'm back and fourth on whether they do or not. Anyone else have any insights/thoughts/opinions about them?
