>>724 here. Drew a couple of friends, not self portraits but close enough. The first one isn't rotoscoped but I ran my mouse over points in the reference photo, noted their coordinates and drew corresponding dots in what ended up as the finished piece to get an outline of his face and nose.
The second one took half an hour, I didn't get him a card for his birthday and leaving a message on Facebook seemed to impersonal.
