No. 104
III.
I was planning on catching up on work the next day, Saturday, but most activities had Saturday practice. I figured I would still have plenty of time in the afternoon even with practice. The night before I gave a shot at shaving my legs, but it was only with an electric razors that didn't cut very close. I didn't have to worry about much hair on my face.
I had started walking towards to courtyard which was on the way to the gym. On one of the benches near the large water fountain there was a tall boy with dark hair and glasses that got up as he saw me walking by and approached me.
"Heya, Jon," the boy said, smiling. "On your way to the gym?"
"Yeah but...wait..." that's when it dawned on me as I was looking at his face.
"...Gabby? Is that you?" I asked. She smiled.
"I prefer to go by Gabe when I'm like this. I'm surprised you could notice."
"You do look really...different. You go to school like that?" I asked.
"She sure does!" I voice from behind closed in behind us. Although I had known her for less than 24 hours, I could instantly tell it was Celeste. She appeared next to Gabby- er- Gabe, and was dressed it the normal school uniform.
"Can you at least try to keep your voice down when you say things like that?" Gabe said while sighing in frustration.
"Oh, right. Sometimes I can't tell when I'm being too loud," Celeste said.
"Makes for a good cheerleader, I suppose," I said, trying to lighten the mood.
"Does this bother you?" Gabe asked casually.
"No, I guess it doesn't. Especially considering my own circumstances. I will say that I find it a bit strange you would want to join the cheer squad," I commented, hoping it wouldn't strike a nerve. He just smiled awkwardly.
"Why do you think?" Celeste chimed in, unsolicited yet again. "It's because she wants to look at all the WAAH-" he gave Celeste a quick slap on the head. "Sorry..."
"It's really because I enjoy it. That, and I think I'm a bit like you. Thought it would be easy and more enjoyable than the war history club. It also gives me a chance to let my more feminine side out. Also like you," he said, rubbing the sore spot on Celeste's head.
"I'm not so sure about that last part. I never really considered it before I was sort of...pushed into it," I said.
"Is that right? You seemed to pick it up pretty well at the practice. Most guys could never act that...girly. I thought crossdressing was one of the main reasons why you wanted to do it."
"You were really good, you know! It was a whole month before I was good enough to go to one of the games," Celeste said.
"Anyway, were you two headed to the gym?" I asked, trying to avoid my other self coming out during the first practice.
"Actually, no. We were hoping to intercept you on your way there. Violet is waiting in the parking lot for us. When we meant 'special practice', we had something else in mind..." Gabe said nervously.
"We're gonna go to Pine Creek!" Celeste said happily.
Every Saturday shuttle buses would take students to Pine Creek, which was the nearest medium-sized town. It wasn't that big but it had plenty of things to do, as well as a shopping mall. I hadn't gone there myself yet, I never really had many friends to go with and most students preferred to focus on their studies or activities. Most of the people who went were seniors who didn't need the extra practice in activities.
"Pine Creek? For what? I don't have much in the way of cash," I said.
"It's probably best if Violet explains it. She's the one paying for everything, so there's no need to worry about that," Gabby said while starting to walk towards the front of the campus where the shuttles left from.
We walked to the parking lot where there were a small crowd of students waiting for the shuttle. The school made students even go out to the town in their uniforms, something about representing the school. Violet was there waiting for us, she was dressed normally in a very neat school uniform as opposed to Celeste's, which was always a bit untidy.
"It's about time the three of you show up. We already missed the first shuttle out. Luckily there's another one coming soon," She said, still exuding the same authoritative aura.
"Sorry. They were just explaining some things to me," I said, trying to be polite.
"I suppose that's understandable. Did they tell you why we're going out today?" she asked me directly.
"No, not really."
"Well, I say first that I did like your spirit and how well you were able to pick the material up. Unfortunately, though, you're not quite ready to go out on the field as you are. We're going to pick up some things and see if we can't craft you into a more presentable girl," she said seriously.
"But I-"
"Don't worry, it will only be for games. You can still practice and do whatever else you do however you want. To be honest, I wasn't thrilled like these two that a boy would be joining our ranks, but if it means keeping the squad active, I don't mind."
"Oh come on, Violet! You have to admit it'll be fun making him up!" Celeste said, a bit louder than I wanted.
"I guess I don't have a problem with that, but won't someone find out? There'll be a lot of students in the town today," I said, looking around at some of the others standing around. Luckily we were removed from the main crowd.
"We'll be discreet. It's mostly seniors anyway, you won't have to worry about your freshman peers finding out. Of course, it might just be easier if you just register as transgendered..."
"But I'm not, really. I'm doing this mainly out of necessity," I said, not wanting to repeat myself too much from the conversation before.
"Oh? It was the general feeling that dressing like a girl was your main motivation. At least that's what Coach Rosen hinted at," she said, looking genuinely surprised.
"I just thought you were gay!" Celeste said cheerfully.
"Well... I can't really say for sure than I'm either one. It's not that I haven't thought about it, I just never really considered it."
"In any case, you're still going to have to look like one if we're going to put you out on the field. I think I see the shuttle-bus coming now..."
It was actually two smaller white buses with the school name and logo on the side. The first bus filled up, and we had the second bus to ourselves. I sat next to Gabe on the ride over.
"So... the school lets you just... wear boys clothes?" I asked with my voice down.
"I guess you haven't been here long, so you wouldn't know. Not many do, it's a pretty well-kept secret, and with good reason," he said. "Golden Orchard was originally founded as a 'safe-haven' school for LGBT kids. Well, sort of. Parents mainly sent their gay kids here as a way to keep them apart from the family but still give them an education. In the beginning they tried to 'correct' them but that never worked out. The school got a very good reputation for its academics, and people from all over started bringing their kids here. Anyway, there are quite a few transgendered kids here, but you would never know it. They room us together and if you're passable enough, no one will know."
"Wow. That is interesting. So there could be boys in my building who are really girls?"
"That's right. I'm in the Junior building, of course. There are also transgendered girls, but they tend to be even more discreet. One of the stores we're going to... well, you'll find out," she said and smiled.
The drive wasn't very long, about 10 minutes through a forest and another 5 on the main road until we got to Pine Creek. It was a normal medium-sized town, a central business district along with main road surrounded by residential houses. The mall was removed a bit from the rest of the main street stores, but that's where they dropped us off. It wasn't very big like a city mall, but seemed to have all the essentials. They had many stores aimed at younger people, there was not only Golden Orchard but also the local high school and a small college nearby as well.
We got off in front of the mall, it was the middle of the day so there weren't too many people around.
"First off, we'll have to get a nice, realistic-looking wig," Violet said as we went through the doors.
"Might as well make In-Between our first stop then. I just have to hope my password is still current," Gabe said.
"In-Between?" I asked, looking around. I didn't see a shop with that name on the list of stores in the entrance of the mall.
"It's a small, discreet, crossdresser's store. You need a password to get in to keep people who don't need to be in there out," Gabe said, leading the way. "It's been a while since I've been there, though. Not only is it a store specifically for people like me, but it's in between the costume shop and formal wear shop. It helps keep us out of the view of others."
We walked past the food court. Like a dog that sees a car and wants to go after it, Celeste saw a pregnant mother struggling with her children near one of the tables. Celeste looked over to Gabe.
"Yes, you can go. We only really need you for makeup, anyway," he sighed as Celeste smiled and almost squealed and trotted over to them. Gabe looked to me. "She has a thing for babies and small children. I don't really get it."
Celeste asked the mother whether she could help and the mother seemed rather grateful.
"We'll catch up with her later," Violet said as we kept walking on. We walked for a little while longer before turning into the costume shop. There were some people milling around inside, but it wasn't very big, Halloween wasn't for a while. We went straight up to the counter to the cashier.
"Uhh, 'Swan Dive'?" Gabe said awkwardly to the girl at the counter.
"You're a few months out of date, Gabe. All three of you coming in?" she asked, looking up from her magazine.
"We have a first timer here," Gabe said, pointing at me. "So at least me and him. Her, too, if that's cool."
"Might be a bit cramped, but it's okay with me. Go on in," she said, unlocking the door in the back behind all of the racks.
Inside was a small neon sign that said "In-Between", and behind it were just shelves and shelves of plain-looking boxes with another door at the far end. There were about 4 rows of boxes, with each shelf being about 5 shelves high. The boxes were all labeled with various things. Tops, panties, boxers, bottoms, wigs in different colors, as well as boxes labeled "bindings" and "forms". I wasn't sure what everything meant.
"So what do we need?" Violet asked. It was clear she hadn't been in here before either, judging by the way she was looking at everything.
"A wig, obviously, a breast form and some special...underwear," Gabe said while looking up and down the boxes. "What color hair? Your the team's blond, Cel is a lighter brunette like he is naturally...so maybe auburn?"
"He does have some freckles on his face. Take it out and let's see how it works on him."
I already had shorter hair, so she was just able to put it on normally. The wig seemed well-made and more natural looking than the standard costume wigs. Gabe put it on me and adjusted it. I tried to suppress a blush when they were both looking me over.
"She doesn't look half-bad like that," Violet said, suddenly referring to me as a 'she'. "We just have to make sure it stays on when she's jumping around."
"That's what this adhesive is for. We'll save that for games, though," Gabe said as she went rooting through one of the other boxes. She brought out what looked like a pair of rubber breasts. "A B-cup should do. Bigger than me, but not bigger than anyone else on the squad. Take off your shirt," Gabe said. I wasn't so sure about taking my shirt off here of all places. "Don't worry, no one is going to walk in on us. Maybe. You should do it quickly to make sure," he said, looking through the one of the boxes that said "bras".
I started unbuttoning my shirt and gave it to Violet when it was off. Gabe dressed the breast form over me when I was shirtless, it fit like a bra over my chest. Although it didn't look very realistic shirtless, after Gabe gave me a bra and blouse it looked more natural than I thought.
"That should work well for the uniform top. It's not like it shows enough cleavage to risk exposure," Violet said. "Now what? Panties?"
Before Violet even said it, Gabe was already digging through another box and pulled out a pair of underwear. It seemed like normal white panties but with a small bulge in the crotch.
"Take a few pairs of these. Can't have you wearing briefs under a skirt, now can we?" Gabe said, throwing a few different colors in the bag. "That should be all. Take the other stuff off and put it in the bag over there."
"What now?" Violet asked as I took the stuff off and put it in one of the black bags that they kept in the corner.
"Still needs to be waxed and we need to find Cel so she can point us in the right direction with makeup," Gabe said, tidying the boxes back up.
"You know, I use makeup, too. Why do we need her?" Violet asked, as if she were slightly offended.
"Celeste is a dynamo at these things, trust me. She also knows what the right brands are," Gabe replied. I tried to cut into the conversation.
"I can shave my legs, you know," I said, wincing at the idea of my legs being waxed.
"Like you tried to last night?" Gabe said, lifting up my pants leg. "It's best if you just go ahead and get the wax. Plus, your roommate might notice if you're shaving your legs every few days."
We walked out of the weird little shop and the cashier quickly checked the bag before Violet put the money down on the counter. We walked down back near the food court to find Celeste again, but saw her on the way there.
"You should have saw those adorable kids! That baby was sooo cute, and then there was the 2 year old who-"
"I'm sure they were lovely, and you can tell us all about them later. Right now, we need you to get that special makeup you were talking about. You know, the stuff you put on me sometimes," Gabe said, not wanting to get her started on the kids.
"Oh, right. I ran out over the summer. I don't remember what it's called, but I'll know it when I see it. Follow me!" she said, taking charge and walking passed us. We came up to an Asian-looking place and Violet led me in as Celeste and Gabe went ahead.
"Don't worry, it's not as bad as it seems. I sort of need to wax myself so we can do it together," Violet said as she led me into the parlor. I never had a high tolerance for pain, so the idea of having my leg hair ripped out was making me quite nervous.
They led us into a private booth and I knew what was coming when the wax was spread on my legs. I didn't have much hair there, mostly below my knee. Luckily it wasn't too thick and didn't take too long, although it seem to take forever. Being able to brace myself for the pain helped, and seeing the smoothe result made it worth it to some degree. Violet didn't seem to mind it at all.
When we walked back out Cel and Gabe were waiting for us. Celeste was holding a bag with what I assumed was the makeup. Although I had known for a while that this was happening, having it all fall together in a complete package made me nervous, for some reason.
"So is that all, then?" I asked, still feeling my legs burning.
"Not so fast, champ. We still have one more test before we can feel comfortable sending you out on that field..." Violet said. "Let's go to the bathroom," she said, walking down to the bathrooms near the food court. There were more people around, but I didn't see anyone I knew, thankfully. Celeste and Violet checked the bathroom to make sure there was no one inside at the time and rushed me into a girl's room stall while no one was looking. Gabe stayed outside.
Inside, Celeste seemed to take great pleasure in making me up.
"This is a special kind of makeup that washes off very easily. I was just going to use the same stuff I use on Gabby, but you have fairer skin..." she said as she started applying the stuff on my face in front of the mirror in the biggest stall. Violet seemed less interested, letting Celeste do whatever she wanted to me. It was clear she had done it many times before, and when the wig was fitted correctly on my head it was strange how convincing I looked as a girl.
They left for a second as I stripped down and got dressed with a top and skirt. The pantiers were easy enough to get on, but when compared to boxers they felt much more revealing. It was surprising how the bulge was less noticeable. The combination of the panties and a skirt made me much colder and open than I was used to. I had to have Celeste help me with the bra, they are much more complicated than they look, and the breast form made it so it was like two layers of bra. When the blue blouse was finally put on me it was hard not to be amazed at how different I looked. Celeste seemed rather proud of her work on my face.
"Jane is ready! Or do you like Jane? We can always come up with another name if you don't like it. Jeanne, for instance," Celeste said after looking at me.
"Jane is fine," Violet said, likely not wanting any more complications. "She looks fine to us, but we will have to have her talk to some others to make sure," Violent commented as we walked out of the girl's room. I wasn't sure if my voice was right for that yet, but I did well during practice.
Gabe seemed shocked as he saw me, and smiled.
"That's not bad at all. Turns out he was a better candidate than we thought," she said, walking back out to the food court with us. Violet seemed the scan the room. It was slightly more crowded since it was near lunch time.
"Hmm...see that group of boys over there? Go over there and ask one of them for their number. You don't have to talk to them much, they just have to be convinced that you're actually a girl," Violet said.
"Are you sure that's a good idea? What if they *don't* buy it?" I asked, nervously.
"We'll be here to back you up. They don't look like they're from our school so it won't matter much, anyway," Violet said, giving me a slight nudge to go over there. I figured there probably wasn't going to be a way out of it, and secretly I was eager to see whether I was passable as "Jane", as well.
I walked over and they did appear to be more of a high school crowd, until I saw a face I knew amongst the small crowd of 5-6 boys eating lunch. It was Dex! He wasn't in his uniform, but I did remember him mentioning that he had friends close by. I was too close now to back out, as they started looking my way. Dex was actually the first to say something.
"Hey, there. What brings you over to this table?" He said as everyone started looking me over. It was incredibly hard for me to focus my feminine self to convince them. I just looked over to Dex, weirdly enough I felt slightly more comfortable with him there instead of a bunch of strangers.
"Umm, yeah. I was just wondering, you know, if I could get your number?" I said, trying to play up the feminine voice as much as I could. Dex looked at me for a second as if he were judging me. He then grabbed my hand and wrote his number down on the top of my hand.
"There you go. My name's Dex. What's your's?" He said, smiling.
"Uhh, Jeanne," I said, blushing and thinking 'Jane' was a bit too close.
"I look forward to talking to you later, then, if you don't want to spend more time away from your girlfriends over there," he said.
"No, I have to go soon. I hope to talk to you, too. Bye..." I said, walking back with my knees wobbly. Did he really buy it? It seems like he did.
They all seemed satisfied enough now that I had actually talked to others. The makeup did wash off pretty easily and I was able to go back to being Jon again rather easily. We boarded the shuttle back to school a few minutes after getting something to eat.
We didn't get back too late, so I still had plenty of time to catch up on the mountain of classwork I had to do. Dex got back a few hours later and didn't treat me any differently, which meant that he really didn't think it was me. I washed the number off of my hand, of course, but I hid it from him for the rest of the day just in case he saw the slight smudge. I guess this whole thing wouldn't be so bad, after all.
