My sister-in-law's cat is the only other cat I've seen with a pattern like Spooky's. What's this type of cat called?

Its strange to see this question, as I just spent the last couple day with my sister trying to figure this out. Her cat has the same coloration. Near as we can figure it is called brindle

She is a very pretty little girl, I love how vivid her colors are and she looks silky soft :3

Actually, looks like a tortoiseshell kitty to me. I've never heard it referred to as brindle on a cat although it is similar. Also, if there are noticeable tabby markings, namely on the forehead and darker areas, it is then called torbie.

Picture is a most lovely torbie lady from a local rescue. I have a soft spot for them although many (not all) have a bit of a princess attitude goin'.

Also, fascinating reading if you're at all interested in cat genetics as it relates to torties and calicos:

SAGE has been used.

I come on this board and think I should get a cat, then I read something like this

>Torties and torbies are very interesting! They tend to have what the cat fancy calls "Tortie-tude". More than any other color, these girls have an "opinion" on everything. They will tell you exactly what that opinion is! At the same time, they can be one of the sweetest cats you will ever own.

and I think I'll give it a pass.

I might like one, I just meant that I don't want to be lumped together with the sort of people who write that drivel. I will probably just keep visiting my Mom's and Brother's cats.
