Colt has also gone bankrupt. I think they're related. Rappers stopped getting shot which in turn caused people to stop buying ammo. There are no holes in this theory.

However, his debts are much more than this.
Plus the $5Million is only one of the lawsuits he's facing.

Net worth: The amount by which assets exceed liabilities.

It appears you don't understand the concept of net worth. Those debts that you speak of must have only hit in the past few months (assuming that original assessment of his net worth was correct) for his net worth to have plummeted to or below 0. Not saying this didn't happen either. Just saying that net worth takes into account outstanding debt.

It's not even all about net worth. He has many business interests which depending on how each interest is structured may be protected from being used to satisfy a personal liability claim/judgement. The personal bankruptcy is just to try and protect as much of his liable assets as possible. It in no way means he is broke or that he has a negative net worth.

Thank God someone understands this here. He could have nonliquid business interests worth 114.5 million dollars, but only $500,000 in cash. If a $5 million payment comes due at that time, he can file for bankruptcy in order to try to protect the majority of his assets. My guess is that's what's happening here.
