The difference is that genetic alcoholics that suppress their drinking become happier, more well-adjusted, and healthier. Genetic alcoholics that drink heavily suffer all the effects of drinking heavily, like damage to the brain, liver, and other organs, a highly increased susceptibility to mental illnesses like depression, etc, resulting in significantly less quality of life and lifetime success.

On the other hand, LGBT people that suppress it are likely to suffer from guilt, depression, and many end up killing themselves. Those that do not have a much higher quality of life.
