When I'm craving something sweet: vanilla ice cream with chocolate syrup; Nutella; a chocolate milkshake from this place a few blocks from my house. When I'm craving something salty: potato chips. When I'm craving something greasy: frozen grocery store pizza (seriously, I like it more than take out) which I will usually eat in two very large sittings within 3-4 hours.
I justify eating shitty food to myself with the belief that part of being a healthy person is knowing when and how to go overboard and indulge. Most of my meals are comprised of quinoa, rice and beans, kale or spinach salad, and wraps with avocado, some kind of leafy green, chia seeds, aged cheddar and a few slices of chicken breast... and my go-to breakfast when I'm at my girlfriend's place is poached eggs and baked beans. So I eat pretty well I would say and aboutonce every two weeks to a month I will haul off and go crazy on a frozen pizza or stuff my face with chips until I can feel the oil oozing out of my skin. I think it's important to know what foods make you feel naughty and allow yourself to have some guilt-free indulgence in those foods on a rare-but-semi-regular basis.
I take the same approach to unhealthy eating as I do to internet porn: a habit or compulsion is bad, but sometimes it's a great way to spoil yourself.
