http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jeff_Weise
http://regret.newgrounds.com/

>Weise created violent Flash animations and posted them on the Internet (including Newgrounds) using the alias "Regret." One animation, entitled Target Practice, depicts an individual who shoots three people with an assault rifle, blows up a police car with a grenade, and fatally shoots a Ku Klux Klan member. It ends when the character shoots himself with a handgun. The animation is accompanied by the sounds of rapid gunfire. A reviewer of the animation on Newgrounds wrote, "Umm... ok. Was that like a warning message? Hmm dude you need help badly," to which Weise replied,"Lol, you obviously can't tell the difference between Fantasy and reality. This cartoon was made for nothing more than Random violence, and believe it or not there's an audience out there that this appeals to. So don't try judging my Mental health based upon a simple animation, capisce?"

Is anyone else oddly comforted by the fact that Newgrounds is still up and serving a new generation of edgy teenagers? It's kind of nostalgic, I think I'll be sad when it's gone even though it's probably been 9 or 10 years since I browsed it regularly.

Neopets and gaiaonline are still up, too.

And even though geocities died, there's still tripod and angelfire.

OP, why are you calling a 16-year-old a "man"?
>> No. 67460

Under Jewish law one becomes a man at 13 years old. At 18 years old Alexander the Great had already conquered most of Greece and become king of Macedonia. The idea that the natural state of men is to remain some kind of mewling manchildren well into their 30s is an entirely modern one born of the combined efforts of the Frankfurt School and Judaeo-Feminism.

Just thought I'd pop in here for a quick second.
Did you ever wonder why teenagers are so damned stupid? It's because their brain is not done growing/changing yet. A boy is what we call a human growing into a man. Once they're grown, they become a man. If they are still significantly growing they are not done yet, hence they are still a boy.
Regarding Alexander and Temujin types, if you have literally billions of chances, you'll wind up with oddities. They are and never have been the norm. You might as well make a case against 70-year-olds because Ghengis Khan was still conquering at that age. And he had a notably luxurious beard. Just sayin'.
And I think it's kind of pathetic that jewish men are essentially made to be equivalent to a 13-year-old boy. ballza job, guys.

Once they're physically grown, boys are generally sent out on their own. Once that happens, they can then start to mature mentally and emotionally. Before that time, they had the umbrella of their parents to shield them from life. That's why a douche is common and relatively accepted in the early 20's, but if you're still doing it at early 30's you're a sad something-or-other. For an example, see >>67478

"In human infants, the brain is only about 25% of its adult volume at birth, has only reached 50% of adult size by one year of age, and may continue growing until about 20 years of age. "

Just thought I'd counter-pop in and point out that for a ballza portion of human (pre)history making it to 40 years old was quite the feat. No one ever had any reservations putting teenagers as kings or sending them off to die in war until someone said "wait stop their brains aren't developed yet :("

There are plenty of examples of what you're talking about, but even if they were made king at age 14, that only makes them a king and not a man. If they were king, then they were simply boy-king which is not unprecedented. Sending them off to die in war is just how shit went back then. In many cultures, if you could lift a weapon, you can be cannon (sword, axe, etc.) fodder.

I think the point is that the kid in the OP is certainly not a man physically or emotionally.

I just thought I'd counter-counter-pop in and say that you're looking at the life expectancy, not how long the average adult lived for. Ancient societies had very high rates of death in childhood, which brought down the life expectancy considerably. But once you made it to adulthood, you would probably make it to your 50s, even as a hunter-gatherer.

Also, those societies may have been okay with sending teenagers off to war, but our society has planes and computers. Looks like not sending people with developing brains to die before they reach their prime productivity is a ballza idea after all.

There were no Slavs in 300 BC. The great migration of Slavic peoples into Europe did not occur until almost 1200 years later.

I don't recall my school's pariah being as genuinely heroic as our noble blue friend here. He probably intimated the rurals with his vocal, but sophisticated political or aesthetic ideals. It's certain he maintained unnoticed but intense relationships with other free spirits; the cerebral posturing of these great minds being interrupted only by spontaneous bouts of oral sex.
