The story I read suggested that Cooper was the victim of a conspiracy by the crew. They killed him in the toilet and after impersonating him to get the money/parachute dropped his body into the sea. The crew then split the money.

There is a fairly common angle these days to accuse men of not going out of their way to elevate women in the course of their day-to-day activities, but I tend to see that these same men don't go out of their way to elevate men either. It's an odd accusation that is more deserving of very specific circumstances, not general criticism. Feminism, in general, has been a positive thing, historically speaking. Those who deny that do so with their heads in the sand. But when men are accused of not doing their "fair share" it becomes a bit narcissistic.

Let's see. He stole enough money to live out the rest of his life with in obscurity. I wonder why he never came forward or wrote a tell-all book. I really wonder about that really, really hard.

He could at least come forward before he dies. After all this time people are more curious than anything else, they just want to know what the fuck happened. At this point if I heard that he got away with the money and lived an obscure but comfortable life in the Guatamalan jungle or something I'd think "well ballza for him."
