I was stationed on the ship on the left as an Aviation Structural Mechanic (fixing fighters and helicopters) for 4 years. I can't speak for civilian ship life but if it's anything like the Navy, it sucks ass. I slept in a room with 300 guys on racks (bunks) stacked 3 high. Hard as shit to sleep, plenty of douchebags, the food sucked, everything (hot water, TV, internet, A/C, the reactor) was constantly breaking. Noise, dust and gross shit everywhere. Still, those port calls were awesome. Hit up many beautiful spots throughout Asia. Got some quality poon and great food. Plus they paid for my college. Still, I'd recommend against a life at sea.
