I used to bring a knife to my high school every day, it was quite useful as it was a vocational school. It was about 4 inches, though. Some teachers knew I had it and didn't care.

Oh how the times have changed. Now all our kids are nuts and on mind altering physician prescribed drugs.

I graduated high school in 2009 brosef. I saw both the Ritalin and Adderall days in their prime, along with school shooting paranoia.

The highest levels of school shooting paranoia happened slightly before your time. I was a freshman in high school when the Columbine shootings happened. But the media frenzy over Ritalin food occur around 2005-ish, so you can claim to have experienced that one.

The ADD craze was mostly before high school, around grades 5-7. While not everyone was frantic so much about Columbine, the Virginia Tech shooting happened while I was in high school and sorta brought paranoia about that stuff back to the forefront.

Fucking Columbine, the damn adminsitration of my high school interviewed me because I was kind of a loner and I had to stop brining my brief case to school as well. Those two guys were cunts.

I was interviewed as well. I was friends with the goth/rocker/stoner types and we were all interviewed by administrators. I was personally sent to the principal's office several times over the years due to something I had written for some school assignment. Teachers were scared.

My parents were called in and I was interviewed in the fifth grade. It was some kind of assignment that we had to draw a symbol of the state. They all freaked out because I drew "a guy with a gun". Except that guy is on the state seal. I drew the state seal because I was lazy. Although I did make the gun a bit bigger, the official one always looked a bit disproportionate.

That shit affected elementary school kids as well. Couldn't even go on the playground and play make-believe with some sort of space fantasy that could have been out an anime without people getting upset that you mentioned killing the bad guy with a bomb.

For me the worst part of that was realizing that these laws were enforced by adults who might be reasonably presumed to play cops and robbers or cowboys and Indians when they were children. You know, "violent" scenarios that at least would have involved guns. Sometimes I wonder if the stupid overreactions by people in positions of authority contributed to my mistrust of moral panics in particular and moral skepticism in general.

You have to wonder if they were aware of the irony of sending an 8 year old to re-education camp for drawing a man with a gun as a symbol of the (authority of the) state.

I was expelled from public school in the 5th grade for having safety scissors. They were apparently dangerous weapons. Not that I terribly minded. I didn't really like anyone there, and the place I went to was wonderful for a few years at least, mostly cause the other kids were social delinquents and the girls were nice. I would also be kicked out of this school, and the fucked up boy scout who cheated his way into the principal job ran the school into bankruptcy the following year.

I'm muslim and after 9/11 I got called into the principals office because some kid mistook a phone I had on me for a bomb. Kinda retarded considering I was in the seventh grade.

Are you the same guy who made the "Hey faggot, it's happening" ron paul image seen a week ago in the ebola thread? What experience or idea is prompting you to make such things?

It's short for terveisen, a Finnish way of closing an informal letter meaning "regards".

You'll find out soon enough. You'll all find out.

Except it's terveis_i_n.
In junior high I light up like two pieces of paper and left them to smoke, literally just smoke, no flame anymore, in a metal casing for the fire hose.
Then the principal came and started asking questions and during lunch I had to go confess because they were going to call the police.
After that my class supervisor yelled at me for attempting murder and arson.
