Summer Season is right around the corner.

What are you faggots watching?

I've skimmed over the chart and this season seems kind of weak, but I believe I'll be watching Kokoro Connect, Jinrui wa Suitai Shimashita and Kono Naka ni Hitori.

Another sort of disappointing lineup this year. Kokoro Connect seems relatively interesting, as is Jinrui wa Suitai Shimashita. Natsuyuki Rendevous also looks potentially good. Tari Tari could potentially be a heartwarming coming-of-age deal without the whole forced melodrama of Ano Hana, but could be boring as shit as well. I ended up watching nothing all the way in the Spring, hopefully I can find something interesting in the Summer.

Eh, you didn't miss much. I watched 8 shows from Spring and none of them struck me as being particularly memorable. I doubt anyone will talk about them a year or two down the line, except maybe Hyouka. Tasogare Otome x Amnesia seemed to show a lot of promise, but the ending really dragged it down for me.

Well, Jinrui was fucking weird. Pretty awesome, though.

I also watched it. It was pretty entertaining, especially the scene in the bread factory. The fairies' unchanging, insanely joyful expressions made their conversation about starving to death hilarious.

I've seen people on that other *chan calling it a social commentary, but I don't see what part exactly was supposed to be social commentary, unless I just didn't catch the references.

Well the commentary isn't exactly subtle. The main character basically comments on everything from the nature of butchering chickens to authoritative meetings ("the outcome of the meeting is determined before it even starts") as well as the nature of mass manufacturing and how it affects the quality and properties of what we eat vs. more natural foods that are more scarce.

The thing is that there's not one single thing it's commenting on and it's not being outwardly preachy about much.

In other news there's Natsuyuki Rendezvous, it was surprisingly good, doesn't play up the whole bishie angle and getting a good josei show is rare. It's sort of like Ano Hana, except it has heard of subtlety and emotional balance. IE the things that would have made Ano Hana watchable a second time.

Ah. I'm quite embarrassed that all that managed to slip by me. I was just watching each scene as being entertaining comedy, so I wasn't really expecting anything they said to have any relation to present world circumstances.

In other news, I decided to also check out Binbougami Ga! and I found it hilarious. It reminded me a lot of Daily Lives of High School Boys, or "Nichibros", (no surprise since they apparently share the same production team) which I also enjoyed a lot. I've also read comparisons between it and Gintama, but having never seen Gintama I can't say whether or not it's true (although I've also read comparisons drawn between Nichibros and Gintama, so it probably is similar). Lots o' reference humour.

So is that a recommendation?

For Jintai? Yes, especially after the second episode a thousand times yes. Kokoro Connect is pretty meh but it might go somewhere better. Not really sure about Binbougami-ga, that's not really my style.

Jinrui's basically the only thing I'm still watching this season.
