Picture unrelated, but it is me making a stir-fry at a local steampunk night. In a monogrammed jacket.

I had a five-year-long, wear-band-shirts stage, which, upon retrospective, I cannot endorse. But the shirt brings me memories, so I keep it, and use it only for boxing. When it doesn't get cleand in time, I use a very minimalistic Mayhem shirt as a backup.

This is me at a christmas and/or new years party I can't remember.

I couldn't remember my name
So I called myself Klapooshits
It's weird being a Klapooshits
But I'll get used to it.
I'LL HAVE TO.

All I own are band shirts. Only like two or three I haven't gotten from being at a show. I never saw the big deal with band shirts, except for like, led zepplin shirts.

>>624 Not everybody's steampunk is full of gears and brass and unnecessary ornamentation. I portray a military man, so I dress like one. Minimal frippery.
>> No. 628 ID: 9e406f
>>627
It doesn't have to be about gears and brass but there is an element of fantasticalness to it. What sets you apart from me putting a bunch of early french war era clothes? We can sit here and get into semantics Aaron but A) There's another board for this kind of argument and B) This doesn't scream steam. It looks like you got some military dress then made a shako and glued a skull and crossbones to it. Plus all the cool kids do Postapocalyptic now. We all hang out in the parking lot and smoke cigarettes while we paint tires. So cooool.

Why are you being such a dick? He'd fit right in with a crowd of steampunkers.

LOL DATS NOT STEAMPUNK DATS JUST MILITARY CLOTHES

The man came up with a character and built his costume around said character, from what I can surmise. Take that chip off your shoulder and stop being such a little bitch.

But it's not based off of... It just IS. Except with the crossbones on the hat.

>>634
I'm just saying that Steampunk is different than Neo-victorian. Though I guess in his case he would be more Neo-Hungarian? I'm not trying to be a dick about it but part of Steampunk IS technology buddy. That's where the steam bit of it comes in. Steam powered modern technology. It doesn't have to be all gears pinned to lapels and brass skulls but without the technology part of it you're just Neo-whateverperioddress. He looks very nice. I didn't say he didn't. All I wanna do is squish his cheeks and make him buy me dinner. But I wouldn't call him steampunk in that picture.

Plus I think he looks better in THIS picture. But I swoon over domino masks and puffy shirts. Sue me.

>>635 Actually, many hussars wore skull-and-crossbones emblems on their shakos.

The point of the outfit is to be very close to a historical military uniform. There's some small details that are changed, but, I mean, a whole wardrobe isn't going to change wholesale with the advent of brand-new technologies. The invention of the computer didn't lead to computerized clothes, did it? I mean, it's unimportant ultimately, because to each their own.

Have this picture where I look unshaven and slightly angry.

I expected you would get something more like this.
Did you know this little trick to remembering how to set a table? (this pic reminded me of it) Fork and left each have four letters. Spoon, knife and right each have 5 letters.
>> No. 2597 ID: 822548
>>2536 I learned table setting based on the idea that you cut with the right hand, and so knife goes there. Unless you're left-handed, in which case you set opposite. It's a good way to flatter a guest—if they arrive to a properly-set table, they'll be impressed.

Also, the assassin symbol is my eighth tattoo... so I've got plenty of time to incorporate cooking into my art.
