Since we don't have a /v/, let's have a videogame thread. What videogames are you playing, 99chan? Right now I am pretty obsessed with making my animal crossing roads aesthetically pleasing.

I became kind of disenchanted with video games when I realized most of the people around me in online games were ~16 years old. Not like it should surprise me, considering I played most of the same games when I was 16 too.

Even though I only have about 9 hours played the past two weeks, my top 4 games on Steam by playtime are apparently: Victoria II, Red Orchestra II, Europa Universalis IV, and TERA. So I guess you could say I'm playing those.

I've been playing RUST (on cracked servers because fuck paying for alpha) recently. It's a pretty ballza Unity game with ballza survival and base building, you build up your base, collect resources, then raid others. Or you can just build a massive impenetrable palace for yourself.

I mostly just mow down with my gun the hordes of nude Brazilians running around with a bow and arrow.

Other than that I play a bit of DCS World, a modern combat aircraft simulation that does its best to make the best combination of realism and accessibility to modern air combat. It's very complex but hellza rewarding once you figure out how to operate the radar on a (simplified) Mig-29 and engage in BVR combat over the beautiful Caucusus mountains.

It's a very comfy game with 2 minutes of intense combat between 20 minutes beautiful views and soothing beeps from your radar warning receiver as you wind through the mountains playing cat and mouse with the enemy or cruise towards the AO at 12000m depending on your style.

Oh, and if fighters aren't your thing there are ground attack aircraft like the Su-25 and A-10 that you can use to attack ground targets or SAMs around the enemy airfield. There are also helicopters but I haven't flown them yet. One of the few examples of a game that has both great singleplayer and multiplayer.

Fallout 1 and 2, Planetside 2, some Dawn of War and Age of Empires II.

I tried playing AoE2 online but it seemed like whenever we would win (I usually played team games) it was in spite of me rather than thanks to me. I can't get the hang of Imperial Age with nigh-infinite resources after 5 minutes.
>> No. 73837
The idea is to use all your resources, try building forward unit production bases near your enemy with like 4 to 8 factories (depending) pumping out units so that you are never floating resources. If you have resources, spend them.

I picked up Monster Hunter for the first time with Monster Hunter 4. I hellza hellza like it. It's just endless boss battles and crafting weapons. I'm still hellza new at it, so I don't know how the different powers work, but I like beating dinosaurs to death with a bagpipe, so 10/10.

I both love and hate the Total War series. I like the time period of Empire best but it has hellza shitty execution and general weirdness, Medieval II is probably my favorite overall.

I love it because as someone with thousands of hours put into different Paradox titles it's nice to have more local control over battles with no RNG. I hate it because sometimes moving units around on the battlefield feels like trying to herd cats and it's frustrating when, for example, you purposely open a hole in your center to fire ballistae through and the ballistae start doing some kind of spinning synchronized dance instead of firing and then get destroyed.

In Rome II you can directly control the artillery.

EB II promises the best Roman experience, however, with a major release coming this month.

Shogun II took the A team, but the B budget, whereas Rome II took the B team but the A budget. Shogun is superior, especially the multiplayer campaigns. Use extended maps and darthmod.

>you purposely open a hole in your center to fire ballistae through

Yeah you're better off just putting a couple units of barbarian shit infantry in front of your line, to absorb both friendly and enemy fire. Don't save mercenaries too long, they are expensive. Best to have them die to the last man, otherwise it isn't cost effective.

Anything he so desires, for mathematics is akin to the magic of fantasy worlds. Mathematics is how we shape the world, change nature, and enforce our will upon reality. The true name of any given thing is the mathematical formula that describes it, for with this you have absolute power over that thing.

Truly he will become like a God.
