What did you guys think of the movie 21?

(I know, it's been out for a few years.)

I thought it was a good showing. Good plot and solid finish.

I actually watched it and somewhat enjoyed it. Not the best acting in the world but hey. If only David Fincher did it or something, then it would have taken pretty decent real-world source material and made it into something a bit more interesting and memorable.

It's also one of the most notorious examples of modern movie white-washing. All those guys were Asian in real life, just like MIT in real life.

I thought it was bad. Just like a pseudo-intelligent version of The Girl Next Door. It's absurdly implausible, Kate Bosworth has a bad case of horseface, the main character has the personality of Hayden Christianson (that is to say, none at all), and the entire movie was pulling along by the extremely menacing Lawrence Fishburne and the eternal dick Kevin Spacey (I don't know how he does it, but he's just always an asshole. Impeccable actor though).

I had a lot of problems with it. It was reasonably entertaining and that's about all I can expect from it, but I think better writing and actors could have bumped it up to "pretty good".

Yeah, agreed.

I don't think Fincher would take that on.. but yeah no doubt he could do it better.
