I have some ideas that I think would be best expressed with oil painting. I have a bit of experience with acrylics, but mostly in a haphazard way: abstract background stuff for my collage pieces and so on. I'm pretty weak with regard to colour theory, basic painting techniques, and so on. I'm planning to take a class, but due to some money issues that will have to wait until January.

Does anyone know any good tutorials or resources for working with oils? Also any tips or tricks you may have, especially when it comes to painting flesh and hair would be greatly appreciated. Basic tips or techniques are welcome as well.

Re: hair - the best advice I can give is to think of it in 3 dimensional chunks, rather than separate strands of hair (which, frankly, is pretty much impossible to achieve and would look weird.)and what helped me the most was/is looking at sculptures and how hair is formed out of marble.
